A star on the rise is what Austin North is. The 17 year old actor has worked his way up the ladder of success with guest-starring roles on hit TV series like Kickin' It and it seems like Austin has finally found his big break.

Austin, a Cincinnati native, currently stars in Disney Channel's newest sitcom I Didn't Do It. In the show, he plays Logan Watson, a cool and ultra-laidback, high school freshman whose plans of being awesome and making his mark sometimes collide with fraternal twin sister Lindy. Together with their best friends Jasmine, Garrett and Delia, the twins take on their freshman year of high school together, one outrageous adventure after another.

When Austin is not busy filling people with laughter, he pursues his interests in drumming and sports. The basketball lover has a high aptitude for drumming, a passion he nurtured from a young age. Is there anything this jack of all trades can't do? We highly doubt so!

Musichel had the privilege of chatting with Austin about I Didn't Do It and his love for drumming. Read on to learn more about Austin North, who will undoubtedly be one of the biggest breakout stars of 2014!

Congratulations on the new show! What can fans expect from I Didn't Do It that is different from other Disney Channel sitcoms?
I think the dynamic of having twin siblings, plus our friends is a great concept. It’s not a really far-fetched show and the characters are relatable.

Describe Lindy and Logan's relationship in one word.

What's your typical work week like for you?
Wednesday is our table read for a new episode, then Olivia and I also do a lot of school. Thursdays is school and rehearsals. Friday is school, rehearsals and network run-through. Mondays and Tuesdays we shoot. Then we start over again.

How did you celebrate the premiere of I Didn't Do It on Jan 17?
We went to the Disney Channel building and did a live twitter party there as the show premiered on the east coast, then we all went over to Piper [Curda]’s house to watch it live when it aired on the west coast.

Did the hose you used at Fireman Freddy's in the second episode really spout tomato sauce?
I didn’t really ask, but it wasn’t spaghetti sauce. It looked like it though!

We hear you're a pretty awesome drummer — how did your passion for drumming begin?
I just wanted to play and I kept asking my mom for a drum set. She kept trying to talk me into playing guitar instead because the drums would be so loud (credit dana). When she didn’t give in, I went to my Gram & asked her, so she & my Poppy gave me my first set for Christmas. When my parents saw what a passion and gift I had for it, they bought me a drum set.

In the above video, Austin covers OneRepublic's hit "Counting Stars" together with his sister Lauren North, who plays the piano and sings. The North siblings are indeed a killer musical combination to be reckoned with!

If you could join any band as a drummer, which band would it be?
Probably Hillsong United.

You worked with Olivia a few years ago when you guest-starred on Kickin' It. How was it like when you found out that you were going to be working with her again on I Didn't Do It?
Well, I was waiting at the casting office and she & her mum walked in. My mum and I were like, "What!?!" It was funny. I was super excited to get to work with her again.

If you could play any character on I Didn't Do It other than Logan, who would it be?
I think I’m perfect for Logan and I can’t imagine being another character on the show.

Do you get recognised when you go out? Do you have any crazy fan encounters to share?
The show just started airing, so it’s not really a problem for me yet. Some social media interactions can get interesting to say the least, but I love being able to connect with my fans in that way!

What are three reasons why people should watch I Didn't Do It?

  1. You’ll laugh.
  2. You’ll fall in love.
  3. You’ll want more.
