Girl Meets World just got a whole lot more official. The forthcoming Disney Channel series is the highly-anticipated spin-off of hit ABC series Boy Meets World, which follows our favourite on-screen couple Cory and Topanga into married life.

From left: Peyton Meyer ('Lucas Friar'), August Maturo ('Auggie Matthews'), Ben Savage as ('Cory Matthews'), Rowan Blanchard as ('Riley Matthews'), Danielle Fishel as ('Topanga Matthews'), Sabrina Carpenter as ('Maya Hart') and Corey Fogelmanis as ('Farkle')

Reprising their roles as Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence-Matthews, Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel's characters are now married with a family of their own. Girl Meets World will follow their twelve year old daughter Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) and her best friend Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter) as they navigate the challenges of their junior high lives in urban New York City. This is the largest main cast Disney Channel has ever had for a series.

If you were an avid fan of Boy Meets World during its 7-season run on ABC between 1993 and 2000, you would probably recognise some familiar faces in the new show. Rider Strong is set to reprise his role as Shawn Hunter, Cory's best friend, in the series as a recurring character. Remember Mr. Feeny? He, too, will return to Girl Meets World and he will be portrayed once again by William Daniels. While it is unclear what Mr. Feeny's role in the series is at the moment, the rumour mill is saying that he will be a teacher at the school the Matthews children will be attending.

For the youngsters, you may recognise Sabrina Carpenter from Austin & Ally, where she guest-starred in 'Moon Week & Mentors' as Little Lucy Gluckman. Rowan Blanchard starred in 2011 film Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World as Rebecca.
