Extraordinary talent deserves to be recognised. Returning for the third consecutive year is Musichel's annual Rising Stars feature, where we highlight musicians and actors who have what it takes to be the next big things of 2015.
Before we reveal the five personalities for this year, we'd like to recap last year's nominees: actress Kira Kosarin, American boy band IM5, actress/singer Dove Cameron, British singer-songwriter Brad Kavanagh and Australian pop-rock band Set in Motion. All of these incredibly talented people have accomplished a lot in 2014 and we couldn't be prouder of them.
Now, here are our Rising Stars that will surely—excuse the internet jargon—SLAY in 2015!

21 year old singer-songwriter Sofia Carson has been making some serious waves lately. After appearing in an episode of Disney Channel's Austin & Ally, Sofia is now making a name for herself as an actress. She plays Soleil in MTV's Faking It and next year, she will finally make her well-deserved big break in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants. In Descendants, Sofia plays Evie, the daughter of Snow White villain The Evil Queen. The movie also stars Dove Cameron from Liv and Maddie, Cameron Boyce from Jessie and Booboo Stewart from the Twilight saga.
Apart from her acting career, Sofia is a signed songwriter with BMI. We highly doubt that there's anything this girl can't do.

2014 has been an incredible year of tears for actress Liana Liberato. Both films in which she starred this year were complete tearjerkers and her performances in these two films were absolutely flawless. First, she played Kim in the film adaptation of If I Stay, the best friend of Chloe Moretz's character Mia. The scene where Kim talks to Mia's comatose body was indubitably one of the best moments of the film. Then, she starred in the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' The Best of Me as young Amanda. The fact that it was a film based on a Nicholas Sparks novel should tell you all you need to know about the film.
Liana is by far one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood at the moment—and she's only 19 years old! On her slate for next year are two feature films in which she stars: Dear Eleanor—a drama set in the Cuban Missile Crisis era—and sports drama Life at These Speeds.

Jack Griffo is no stranger to television. The 18 year old actor is perhaps one of the most recognisable faces on Nickelodeon right now—he's appeared in Marvin Marvin, See Dad Run, and of course, The Thundermans. Jack currently stars in popular Nickelodeon sitcom The Thundermans as superhero/aspiring villain Max Thunderman. Here's a little fun fact about Jack: he has played two characters named Brett. He played a jock named Brett on Jessie and he also starred in Nickelodeon TV movie Jinxed as Brett, the love interest of Ciara Bravo's character.
Speaking of Jinxed, Jack performed a song titled "Slingshot" for the film and it is nothing short of perfect. His next movie is a 2015 Nickelodeon TV movie titled Copy-Kid. With his substantial skills in acting and singing and his superhuman good looks (pun intended), Jack's career is one you'll want to watch.

After rising to prominence in 2013 with her recurring role in Disney Channel's A.N.T. Farm, Piper Curda has been riding a roller coaster that only goes up. She currently stars in Disney Channel sitcom I Didn't Do It which premiered in January and was renewed for a second season following its rave success. In I Didn't Do It, Piper plays Jasmine Kang, a smart fashionista with a thirst for trouble. Next year, Piper can be seen in Teen Beach 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to 2013's DCOM Teen Beach Movie starring Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell.
Singing is also a big part of Piper's life—at a young age, she joined the cast of Broadway's 101 Dalmatians and toured the United States for nine months. She occasionally performs covers of songs on YouTube and she has even put out a couple of singles on iTunes. With the brilliant job she has done so far, Piper Curda is proving herself to be a limitless trove of talent.

You know that really catchy song you keep hearing everywhere you go? You know, the one that has SpongeBob SquarePants chanting "I'm ready" over and over again? Well, that song is called "I'm Ready" and it is the brainchild of brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met—collectively known as AJR—from New York City. The unique concept of "I'm Ready" has propelled it to phenomenal success worldwide and at time of writing, it holds a Gold certification in the U.S. with over 500,000 copies sold.
AJR's music is like none other: their songs are a breath of fresh air from all the other pop tunes that we are constantly overwhelmed with today. With two EPs already released (I'm Ready and Infinity), the brothers are set to release their eagerly-awaited debut album Living Room in February 2015.
